Liz Clarke has been involved in agriculture all her life, as agricultural scientist, science communicator, extension officer and farmer. She has spent much of her life in rural Australia, but has more recently become involved in agricultural research for development, with experience in Asia and the Middle East.

She has degrees in Agricultural Science and the social sciences, and has worked for many years in agricultural science communciation. She is particularly interested in adaptive research, transdisciplinary and system-based approaches to agricultural research, as well as participatory approaches to research design and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.

Liz has a keen interest in community development and volunteer organisations, and has been President of the Gundaroo Bush Festival committee, Secretary of the Gundaroo Landcare Group, and President of the Gundaroo Community Hall Ball Committee among other things.
